About the Role
As a Shift Leader, you’ll be a key part of our leadership team, guiding and motivating staff on shift while ensuring our residents receive outstanding, person-centred care. You’ll work closely with the Team Leader and Registered Manager, stepping up to deputise when needed and helping maintain high standards across the service. This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same, perfect for someone who enjoys responsibility, teamwork, and making a meaningful impact.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Leadership & Team Support
- Leading and supervising Support Workers on shift, acting as a positive role model
- Supporting Team Leaders and Managers with day-to-day operations
- Taking responsibility for delegated care plans and ensuring they are implemented effectively
- Resident Care & Support
- Supporting residents with personal care, dignity, and respect at all times
- Promoting independence and encouraging residents to reach their full potential
- Care Planning & Administration
- Maintaining accurate and comprehensive care records and reports
- Supporting the safe administration, storage, and ordering of medication
- Environment & Community
- Ensuring high standards of cleanliness throughout the home
- Welcoming visitors and maintaining positive relationships with families and external professionals
- Promoting positive relationships within the local community and with external agencies
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in a care or support setting (senior or leadership experience desirable)
- A calm, confident leader who can guide and motivate others
- A compassionate approach with a strong commitment to dignity, respect, and person-centred care
- Flexibility to work across a rota including weekends and bank holidays
- Willingness to undertake ongoing training and development
