Overview
We are seeking to appoint a Professional Studies Facilitator to support the pedagogical development of Ambition ITT trainees through the delivery of Professional Studies sessions. This role is ideal for a reflective, academically minded teacher with a strong interest in Initial Teacher Training and mentoring aspiring teachers.
Location
- The position will be based in the Hatfield/Brookmans Park region.
Key Working Hours
- Delivery 2.00-4.30pm Wednesdays (fortnightly)
Role Details
- Postholder will collaborate with the Ambition ITT team to deliver Professional Studies sessions fortnightly for the remainder of the academic year, ensuring quality, consistency and alignment with programme expectations.
Compensation and Hours
- Non‑teaching post (no timetable allowance). Payment includes a TLR3 stipend, support for preparation and planning, and an additional hour beyond the end of the school day as per the National Tutoring Programme.

- Prepare for facilitation by engaging with the provided content ahead of the clinics
- Facilitate and deliver outstanding training for trainee teachers

- Participate in quality assurance of facilitation
Termly
- Attend any Lead Partner facilitator training
- Review the content for upcoming facilitation
Annually
- Work with ITT Partner Lead or Lead Mentor to understand any curriculum adaptation that facilitation need to be aware of
- Attend any additional facilitator training run by Ambition

Qualifications
- The Trust is committed to safeguarding children and young people. All post holders are subject to a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
- UK Qualified Teacher status (QTS)
- Currently employed in a school within the Trust
- Some understanding of Ambition ITT programme requirements and structure
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Ability to provide constructive, supportive feedback to trainees
- Professional and confidential conduct when working with trainees
