SENCo

Thesuccessful candidate should be both an outstanding teacher and an experiencedSENCo, who is looking for a new challenge and an exciting opportunity todevelop effective practice, whilst continuing to promote our culture ofinclusiveness throughout the school community.They must have energy, commitment, an enduring passion for SEN and highexpectations for all pupils. Specifically, they:

• have anexcellent knowledge of SEN in a primary school;
• can play akey role by ensuring that all pupils with additional needs make acceleratedprogress and achieve to the best of their ability;
• willcontribute to and implement strategic plans for the provision of pupils withEHCPs;
• will lead CPDfor staff and workshops for parents;
• can provideleadership and direction to a large staff team by providing guidance andsupport that ensures high quality teaching, and effective use of support and resources;
• have exceptional knowledge of effective adaptations across the primary phase;
• will professionallyliaise with outside agencies/specialists to help achieve the best outcomes forpupils;
• is a teamplayer, has a positive outlook and a sense of humour;
• will contributeto the wider life of the school;
• hold the National Award for SEN Co-ordinatorsor the NPQ for SENCos.
