The Role
We’re looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support our commercial team in managing costs and contracts across multiple projects, ensuring developments are delivered on time and within budget. We can offer support with accommodation arrangements for candidates relocating from the UK or Ireland, subject to local regulations and individual circumstances.
What you will do:
- General project coordination and administration.
- Preparation of initial site budgets.
- Liaison and coordination with other departments regarding development works, including engineers, surveyors, buyers, interiors, and the construction team.
- Preparation of subcontract tender documents.
- Negotiation of subcontract packages.
- Chairing and preparing minutes for subcontract pre-order meetings.
- Preparation of subcontract documentation.
- Managing subcontract payments, variation claims, and final account settlements.
- Coordination with contractors on site.
- Site visits and inspections.
- Liaison with external consultants regarding cost issues.
- Payment of utility services as required.
- Obtaining risk assessments, method statements, and safety documentation from subcontractors.
- Taking off and scheduling materials for buyers to order.
- Preparation of monthly cost reports for submission to Directors.
- Preparation of quarterly CVRs and reports for presentation to Directors.
- Providing continuous financial advice throughout the project to the Site Management team.
- Attendance at fortnightly Project Review meetings.
- Ensuring cost control on site throughout the development programme to completion.
- Maintaining site files and records.
- Ensuring correct cost coding of project costs.
- Any other duties reasonably consistent with the foregoing.
What you will have:
- Relevant industry qualifications are desirable.
- 2–3 years’ residential construction experience as a Quantity Surveyor.
- Proven cost management and project administration abilities on your own projects.
- Experience using measuring software (such as CostX, Bluebeam, or similar) is advantageous.
- Knowledge of ChatGPT or AI-assisted tools for productivity is beneficial.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and Word is essential.
- A strong team player who is self-motivated and able to work independently.
