Keep our construction teams connected, organised and moving forward. We are looking for an organised, proactive Construction Administrator to join Dandara on a 12-month fixed-term contract, covering maternity leave. Sitting at the heart of our regional Construction team, this is much more than a general administration role. You will help ensure the information, reporting and documentation our teams rely on is accurate, up to date and delivered on time. Working closely with the Construction Director, Contracts Managers and Site Management teams, you will have exposure to projects across the region and play an important part in keeping everything from construction programmes and NHBC reporting to handover documentation and training records on track. If you enjoy bringing structure to a busy environment, keeping on top of deadlines and making sure nothing gets missed, this could be a great opportunity.

What you'll be doing:

  • Keeping our construction reporting on track:
  • You will help maintain the information that allows our Construction team to understand progress across our developments. This will include:
    • Maintaining construction information within COINS, including weekly progress, programme dates and forecasts.
    • Preparing regular programme, CML, EU, Non-Mover and Build Risk reports.
    • Supporting monthly WIP reporting and other recurring reports.
    • Collating information for weekly Construction management meetings.
    • Monitoring reporting deadlines and following up outstanding information and actions.
  • Supporting quality, NHBC and Health & Safety:
  • You will provide important administrative support across our quality and compliance activities, including:
    • Preparing and maintaining regular NHBC performance reports.
    • Supporting the administration of NHBC and Premier Guarantee portals.
    • Maintaining regional Quality and Health & Safety trackers.
    • Issuing Quality and H&S Alerts and coordinating close-out actions.
    • Helping collate and complete development Health & Safety Files.
  • Helping projects through to handover:
  • As our developments progress towards completion, you will help make sure the necessary records and documentation are in place. You will maintain handover and commissioning certification trackers, support the preparation of O&M Manuals and client handover documentation, and work with site teams to obtain outstanding certificates and information. You will also provide administrative support for PRS and client reporting where required.
  • Keeping the team organised:
  • You will become a central point of support for our regional Construction team, helping coordinate meetings, information and communication. This will include:
    • Coordinating Project Team Meetings and other recurring Construction meetings.
    • Maintaining the regional Construction Training Matrix.
    • Supporting training administration.
    • Assisting with development newsletters and Construction communications.
    • Maintaining departmental trackers, templates, records and filing systems.
    • Raising and assisting with Purchase Orders through COINS.
    • Preparing reports, presentations, letters and other documentation.
    • Providing day-to-day administrative support to the Construction Director, Contracts Managers and Site Management teams.

About you:

You don't necessarily need to be a construction expert. What we're looking for is someone who is highly organised, accurate, dependable and comfortable working in a fast-moving environment. Ideally, you'll have:

  • Previous administration experience, ideally within construction, housebuilding or a similar environment.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and recurring deadlines.
  • Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • The confidence to chase information and follow up outstanding actions.
  • A proactive approach and willingness to get involved and support the wider team.

Experience using COINS or a similar business system would be an advantage, but isn't essential.

Why join Dandara?

This is an opportunity to become an integral part of a busy Construction team and gain broad exposure to how our developments are managed from programme and reporting through to quality, compliance and final handover. Although this is a 12-month maternity cover position, you'll be joining us in a role where you can make an immediate contribution, build strong relationships across our regional teams and gain valuable experience within one of the UK's leading independent housebuilders. If you're an experienced administrator who enjoys keeping people, information and deadlines on track, we'd love to hear from you.

What's in it for you:

  • £25,000-£30,000 based on experience.
  • 33 days holiday (inclusive of bank holidays).
  • Private Medical Insurance.
  • Employee Assistance Programme - EAP.
  • Health Hero digital doctor - 24 hr virtual help and appointments.
  • Health Assured Wisdom App.
  • 3x salary life assurance (paid option to increase to x4).
  • Cycle to Work Scheme.
  • Employer matched pension scheme of up to 5%.
  • Flexible benefits including shopping vouchers, airport parking and reduced gym membership.

Some tips for your application 🫡

Highlight Your Relevant Experience:In the construction game, having hands-on experience matters! Be sure to showcase any previous temporary roles or projects you've worked on in your CV. Mention specific skills like safety protocols, tools you're familiar with, or types of construction work you've done – this will help you stand out!

Showcase Certifications and Training:If you've got any relevant certifications or training like a CSCS card or health and safety courses, flaunt them! Include them in your CV and mention them in your cover letter. It shows that you're not just ready to get to work but that you've got the essential safety knowledge, which is super important in the construction industry.

Emphasise Flexibility and Availability:For a temporary role, flexibility is key! In your cover letter, make sure to clearly state your availability – are you ready to start immediately? Can you work various shifts? Letting Dandara know how adaptable you are might just get you the edge over other candidates.

Keep it Concise and Clear:When applying for temporary roles in construction, employers often appreciate brevity. Keep your CV and cover letter clear and to the point. Show Off Your Safety Knowledge

In construction, health and safety is non-negotiable. Get comfortable with specific safety regulations like COSHH or Working at Height – you might get asked how you’d handle risk assessments or unsafe conditions. We need to show that we prioritise safety above all else.

Be Ready for Hands-On Scenarios

Expect practical questions or even a mini test where you’ll need to demonstrate basic skills. They might set up a scenario and ask how you would approach a specific task. Let’s prepare by brushing up on our trade skills and thinking through past projects we’ve worked on.

Flexibility is Key

Since this is a temporary role, they’ll want to know if you can adapt quickly to different teams and situations. Let's think about past experiences where we've had to adjust on the fly. This will show we’re ready to hit the ground running!

Highlight Your Previous Experience

Temporary roles often require hitting the ground running, so make sure to have a few stories lined up that showcase your relevant experience in construction. We want to emphasise skills that might not be on our CV—like teamwork and problem-solving when things don't go to plan.
