Schedule: Every MONDAY, from 3:45 PM – 4:45 PM

Duration (Term Dates): Starting 2nd of March until 23rd of March

Total Sessions: Weekly sessions across term dates (4 sessions total)

Location: Primary school in the Hackney area (E8)

Students: Year 1 & Year 2 pupils (ages 6–7)

Rate: £35 per hour

Job Summary

Dance&Arts LTD is seeking a creative, enthusiastic, and engaging Musical Theatre & Drama Afterschool Club Instructor to lead a fun and confidence-building weekly club for Key Stage 1 pupils. This club introduces young children to the exciting world of performing arts through singing, acting, movement, and imaginative play, helping to develop confidence, communication skills, teamwork, and self-expression in a supportive and energetic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead engaging, age-appropriate musical theatre and drama sessions
  • Teach basic acting skills, character work, and simple choreography
  • Incorporate singing, movement, and storytelling activities
  • Encourage confidence, creativity, and active participation
  • Maintain a safe, positive, and well-managed class environment
  • Adapt activities to suit varying confidence and ability levels

Experience and Skills

  • Experience working with children ages 6–7
  • Background in musical theatre, drama, performing arts, or related field
  • Strong class management and clear communication skills
  • Energetic, encouraging, and creative teaching style
  • Enhanced DBS Requirement: Must hold an Enhanced DBS or be willing to obtain one (guidelines provided)

Pay: £35.00 per hour
