We are seeking new Trustees to join us from mid‑January 2027. We would love to hear from individuals who are interested in helping us achieve our plans for the future. Trustee roles are voluntary, with travel and childcare costs covered. Full training will be provided.
What difference will you make?
The charity reformed as a CIO in September 2025 and remains in a robust financial position. Expansion of our grants and services is currently underway. Trustees play a crucial role in overseeing and supporting the Dance Professionals Fund’s strategy. We currently have an excellent Chair, Vice Chair and Board, with some trustees now due to retire from the Board by January 2027.

What will you be doing?
Our Trustees play a vital role in ensuring that the charity achieves its core purpose. They are responsible for ensuring that the charity works towards a clear strategy in line with our vision, delegate the management and administration of the charity, and support and challenge the leadership and staff team to achieve the charity’s mission. Board members have a collective responsibility, acting as a group rather than individuals.
Trustees will
- Support and provide advice on the purpose, vision, goals and activities.
- Approve operational strategies and policies including any policy changes.
- Ensure the effective and efficient administration of the organisation.
- Ensure that key risks are being identified, monitored and controlled effectively.
- Oversee the charity’s financial plans and budgets and monitor developments.
- Review and approve the charity’s annual report and financial statements.
- Provide support and challenge to the charity’s Executive Director in their role.
- Contribute to regular reviews of the charity’s governance performance.
- Attend Board meetings, adequately prepared to contribute to discussions.
- Use independent judgment, acting legally and in good faith to promote and protect the charity’s interests, not their own and/or any third‑party interests.
- Contribute to the broader promotion of Dance Professional Fund’s objects, aims and reputation when representing the charity externally.
- Uphold the charity’s commitment to EDI across all areas of operation internally and externally.
Terms of appointment
Terms of office
- Trustees are appointed for a three‑year term of office, renewable for two further terms to a maximum of nine years.
- This is a voluntary position, but reasonable expenses are reimbursed.
Time commitment
- Attending four Board meetings annually. Currently Board meetings are held in person in central London.
Committee membership
- Ad hoc and occasional support through working groups and/or support to the executive team by way of serving on one of the Sub Committees (normally meeting two to three times per annum).
