The Scientist I is responsible for basic complexity laboratory projects. Generation of test data to specified protocols in support of New Product Development and Manufacturing. This position reports to Manager, Fast Trak Validation Services and is part of Global Filter Performance and Lab Ops, located in Harbourgate, Portsmouth.

What you will do:

  • Execute basic complexity test work as required, with minimal guidance
  • Write test reports
  • Review job request, relevant MSDS and fully understand requirements are in accordance with laboratory SOPs, with minimal guidance
  • Maintain stock levels of laboratory consumables and order when required
  • Operate, understand and be able to troubleshoot all equipment/instrumentation necessary to support testing, with minimal guidance

Who you are:

  • Bachelors or Masters in Science (Chemistry or Bio) or Life Science
  • Desire to work closely with a diverse team and team player and provide scientific analysis of data (able to apply a basic knowledge of scientific principles)
  • Identify issues within a project and propose solutions based on current practices or ability to propose new ideas
  • Use independent judgment for individual daily tasks, require minimal supervision
  • Skilled in basic laboratory techniques and measurement methods with the practical ability to perform basic complexity test work

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Aseptic Techniques
  • Application of GLP as appropriate, familiar with GMP requirements
  • Conversant with PC based programs
