The
Medical SLS Intern (Life Sciences degree) is responsible for supporting the Medical Scientific Laboratory Services team across project coordination, laboratory activities, documentation updates, data handling and continuous improvement initiatives.
Working under supervision, the successful candidate will help ensure laboratory and project activities are executed efficiently and documented accurately within a regulated, quality-focused environment.
This position reports to the Senior Manager Medical SLS and is part of the Medical SLS team located in Portsmouth and will be an on-site role.
What you will do
- Support the coordination and tracking of SLS projects and laboratory activities.
- Project manage small scale SLS projects, with support as required.
- Assist project owners with maintaining project records, schedules and action logs.
- Support execution of laboratory testing following approved procedures and protocols.
- Support laboratory housekeeping, inventory management and consumables tracking.
Who you are
- Currently studying towards a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Life Sciences, Biomedical Science, Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry, Engineering or a related scientific discipline.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word and Power Point.
- Proactive approach, demonstrates initiative with ability to manage own workload, including multiple tasks and prioritise effectively, working to agreed deadlines.
- Able to apply a working knowledge of scientific principles and work to GLP
- Comfortable with changing plans to meet business needs
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in
- Experience handling data and producing reports.
- Knowledge of regulated environments, such as medical devices, pharmaceuticals or life sciences.
- Familiarity with project management principles or tools.
