The Strategic Sourcing Agent is responsible for proactively identifying, assessing, and mitigating supplier-related risks associated with material obsolescence, end-of-life (EOL), supplier-driven material changes, and broader supply continuity threats. The role combines strategic sourcing, supplier risk management, and change governance to ensure financially sound, compliant, and resilient supply decisions across the product lifecycle.
The role partners closely with Materials, Planning, Sourcing, Operations, and Regional Supply Chain leaders to architect, deploy, and sustain a disciplined supply chain operating system using DBS, DMS, and structured problem solving. This position is part of the global operations organization, and will be on-site.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Monitor supplier notifications (EOL/LTB, discontinuations, and technology roadmap changes) and lead mitigation planning (lifetime buys, alternates, redesign, and requalification) with marketing and commodity managers.
- Ensure supplier-driven material and process changes are reviewed and approved, rejected, or mitigated in accordance with governance, contracts, and customer requirements.
- Chair cross-functional forums to evaluate obsolescence- or supplier-change-driven replacements, develop business cases, and drive timely decisions.
- Document decisions, approvals, and mitigations, and maintain data integrity across ERP, PLM, and supplier management systems.
- Establish, maintain, and continuously improve supplier risk, obsolescence, and material change management processes to reduce lifecycle risk and improve decision speed/quality using DBS tools.
The essential requirements of the job include:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, operations, supply chain management, or engineering.
- 3+ years of experience in supply chain operations within a manufacturing environment.
- 3+ years of experience driving continuous improvement using Lean, KPIs, and MRP‑based ERP systems to improve OTD, lead time, cost, inventory, and supplier performance.
- Flexible in adapting working hours to meet the demands of global operations and stakeholder needs.
- Travel Requirements: ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 10%.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- Ability to interpret product Bill of Materials (BOM's) and Drawings.
- Experience in SAP/SAP Analytics Cloud is preferred, and experience utilizing electronic sourcing tools (D&B, Procurement IQ, Amplifi Pro, resilinc, EcoVadis).
- Working knowledge of MS products including Excel (queries, pivot tables and v lookup) and comfortable handling large complex data sets.
- Microsoft PowerBi Experience.
