The Field Automation Specialist will work alongside Field Application Specialists to understand customer digital needs and facilitate the implementation of Cytiva solutions in customer workflows. This role could potentially span the GenMed business units. This position will be fully remote and will require travel up to 50% of your time. At Cytiva, our vision is to advance future therapeutics from discovery to delivery.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Provide pre and post sales technical support to customers and sales teams on our digital solutions.
  • Engage with customers IT automation teams to understand infrastructure into which e.g. MES’ like Chronicle would be connected and assist with technical qualification of Chronicle (and other solutions) opportunities.
  • Coordinate and deliver product demonstrations, training, site visits and follow-ups and develop implementation proposals to customers based on customer needs and situation.
  • Troubleshoot customer technical issues and add value to Cytiva's customers by identifying continuous improvement opportunities in their automation processes and crafting and implementing innovative process improvement.
  • Provide constant feedback to development team on customer insights or problem statements and ensure comprehensive reporting of all on-field activities and customer contacts on salesforce.com.
  • Support proof of concept implementations of automation technology including helping customers to set up secure connectivity between their lab instruments and the Cytiva Cloud.
  • Collect customer and market feedback from the field and channel it to internal team and relevant departments.
  • Develop and maintain a library of electronic SOPs for customers moving from manual to automated systems or scaling their processes.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with the regional commercial and marketing teams, as well as the global product managers and R&D organizations.
  • Collaborate with colleagues from the wider life sciences team to identify and develop complete solutions for customers.
  • Designing, developing and delivering training courses, theoretical as well as practical, in the field of digital automation.
  • Thought leadership – influencing KOLs to establish Cytiva solutions as key enablers for therapy manufacture for GenMed BU’s.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Automation - Masters preferred.
  • Proven experience in automation/IT commercial, product management or R&D roles.
  • Proven ability to lead cross functional projects in a positive and collaborative leadership style.
  • Strong business & technical acuity, with an eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication skills. The position requires an ability to absorb and handle complex information and to translate this information into material which is both clearly structured and appealing to customers.
  • Influencing skills - ability to empower individuals and demonstrate organizational influence.
  • Team oriented - ability to motivate and work well with diverse, global and cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results while working on multiple projects simultaneously.
