The Field Service Engineer is responsible for the servicing and maintenance of Cytiva systems on customer sites across the Cambridge area, encompassing London and Oxford. You will also be tasked with exploring sales opportunities within the region. We are increasing our product range and customer support; therefore, we have a fantastic opportunity for you to join our team of mobile Service Engineers. This position reports to the Area Team Leader and is part of the Field Service team working remotely within the region.

What you will do:

  • Carry out planned activities concerned with installing equipment, investigating and resolving customer reports of technical problems with equipment, and eliminating future operational or service difficulties.
  • Provide advice on the use and care of instruments to customers, maintaining a high level of technical and customer management skill.
  • Participate in the organizing of preventive maintenance visits.
  • Maintain on-going communication with other Company staff and ensure adequate liaison with and support for the Sales team.
  • Maintain a positive and collaborative working relationship with other field service staff and the Sales force to ensure the customer needs are understood and met.
  • Seek opportunities to expand the after-sales support business.
  • Comply with Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) Policy, laws, rules and procedures and complete all EHS training within agreed deadlines.

Who you are:

  • A Technical/College/University graduate skilled in the mechanical, electrical or scientific field.
  • The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate aptitude towards rapid, parallel and repeatable execution of defined maintenance tasks to an aggressive timetable.
  • Naturally driven to eliminate “wastes” at every opportunity, cognizant of the benefits of continual small improvements in areas that are under local control.
  • Resilient in the face of internal and external customers’ demands to divert from primary task, but flexible enough to recognize the rare occasions that a concession may be necessary.

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:

  • Valid passport with the ability to travel visa free – in Europe and the USA as and when required.
  • Travel including overnight stays away from your home base as and when required in the pursuance of work.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Requirement to lift and manoeuvre items/equipment within the EHS guidelines.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Exposure to the Research and Pharma industry.
  • Previous exposure in a Customer facing role.
