The Finance Business Partner – Operations is responsible for supporting the Abcam Operations function and Gross Margin reporting through consistent financial reporting and analysis, with full P&L and Capex responsibilities. This position reports to the Finance Director, Operations, and is part of the Financial Planning and Analysis Team located in Cambridge and will be on site.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Planning and Budgeting: Drive the Operations P&L and capex forecasting process, and Gross Margin forecasting including detailed modelling, accuracy and alignment with business goals.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth financial analysis, including capital investment appraisals, variance and trend analysis, and forecasting.
- Business Partnering: Build strong relationships with key business leaders across Operations, Commercial and Finance to understand their strategic objectives and provide financial expertise.
- Financial Controls: Ensure appropriate SOX compliant controls in place for both revenue and cost recognition.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency.
The essential requirements of the job include:
- Qualified accountant
- Proven experience in a similar role.
- Advanced financial modelling and analytical skills (i.e. Excel).
- Strong understanding of financial principles and accounting standards.
- Proficiency in financial planning systems and tools.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- Experience with Oracle
- Experience with Tableau/Power BI
