The Payroll Services Specialist is responsible for the preparation of payroll input to payroll vendors, processing of standard and off-cycle payroll runs, managing strict payroll calendars, and maintaining payroll software systems to process payroll efficiently. This position reports to the Global Payroll Manager, and is part of the HR Systems & Analytics Team located in Cambridge and will be an on-site role.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Collaborate with Shared Services team for the preparation of payroll input, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Provide payroll input training and support to Shared Service Specialists.
- Manage payroll calendar timelines to ensure payroll runs on time.
The essential requirements of the job include:
- Calculate salary, overtime, ad hoc bonuses, and deductions.
- Process payroll adjustments, if necessary.
- Utilize and maintain payroll software systems to process payroll efficiently.
- Collaborate with our wider Systems & Analytics Team to implement system updates or improvements.
- Maintain high standards in responses to customers in ServiceNow while using initiative to meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for crucial payroll tickets & effective customer service.
- Support wider HR team regarding confidential payroll queries.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure payroll accuracy.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- Processing payroll to strict deadlines (inputting and initial checks), with a track record of consistently meeting cut off dates, and delivering accurate payroll.
- Planning/project management skills.
- A customer focused mindset, meeting customer requirements and agreed SLAs.
- Supporting and training a team to deliver a payroll service.
- Stakeholder management skills (both internal teams and external vendors).
- Being proactive in identifying and acting upon improvement opportunities.
- Committing to your own development and growth, identifying gaps in your experience and knowledge to continuously improve own performance.
