The Hardware Mechanical Engineer is responsible for contributing across the full product lifecycle — from early concept through to detailed design, verification, and transfer into production. You will work closely with senior engineers, technicians, and cross-functional teams to bring high-quality, robust mechanical solutions to life. This is an opportunity to grow into a subsystem ownership role, developing both your technical depth and your influence within a multidisciplinary engineering environment. This position reports to the Hardware Engineering Senior Manager and is part of the Hardware Engineering Team located in Stevenage and will be an on-site role.

What you will do:

  • Own the detailed design and development of mechanical components and assemblies
  • Create and maintain high-quality CAD models and engineering drawings
  • Identify design risks early and propose practical, evidence-based solutions

Who you are:

  • Educated to BA, BSc, MA or MSc in relevant mechanical or design discipline.
  • Possessing >3yrs experience of delivering mechanical solutions.
  • Understanding of engineering fundamentals such as materials, tolerancing, and analysis
  • Hands-on experience in prototyping, testing, or product development environments
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to translate requirements into practical designs

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements: if applicable for role

  • Ability to travel – Occasional travel to partner sites in Europe & UK may be required
