Position Overview
The Senior Engineer is responsible for new product development or improvement projects and designs for hardware and/or disposable devices for the biotech industry and market.
You will work from the early phase (definition of specs) of the initiative through design, testing and validation with the Product Manager and the R&D Engineers and finally transfer into manufacturing, in alignment with Manufacturing Engineers and Supply Chain.
This position reports to the and is part of located in and will be an on-site role.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage project plans, including defining roles and responsibilities, and overseeing resource allocation and risk management.
- Provide technical leadership, confidently guiding teams through complex projects and engineering challenges.
- Apply a strong working knowledge of 3D CAD design to support and drive innovative product development activities.
- Ensure clear, consistent communication, including reporting project progress and key updates to leadership teams.
- Drive effective problem‑solving while fostering strong team collaboration and cross‑functional communication.
Qualifications
- BSc or BEng in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, or a HND/HNC/apprenticeship combined with significant direct work experience.
- Considerable work experience in an R&D environment.
- Experienced in leading through project management and/or design roles.
- Good understanding of 3D CAD design.
- Able to manage own daily workload and accomplish tasks with minimal supervision.
- Travel & Physical/Environment Requirements
Travel – up to 20% travel, overnight, across the world. Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Preferred Experience
Previous experience in an R&D environment, engineering or technical leadership.
