The Facilities Project Engineer is responsible for planning, construction, safety and maintenance of building infrastructure or manufacturing/production equipment and systems. May be responsible for the repair, maintenance, installation and enhancement of machinery and mechanical equipment. This position reports to the Senior Facilities Manager and is part of the Facilities Department located in Harbourgate and will be an on‑site role.
Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and execute facilities projects within agreed scope, budget, and timelines including refurbishments, equipment upgrades, building improvements, and infrastructure works.
- Develop project scopes, timelines, budgets, and resource plans.
- Liaise with contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to specification.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, reports, and risk assessments.
- Ensure all works comply with relevant building codes, safety standards, and company policies.
Qualifications & Experience
- NVQ Level 3 or higher in Electrical, Mechanical, Facilities Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Demonstrated experience managing small to medium facilities projects.
- Good knowledge of EHS regulations and standards (COSHH, NEBOSH, PUWER).
- Proficiency with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) and other facilities management systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
Travel & Physical Requirements
- Ability to travel to other sites, and work at our Langstone Park Facility.
- Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to lift, move or carry equipment and meet other physical requirements.
Additional Experience
- Project Management qualification (Prince2, Agile, PMP).
- Previous experience of working in a fast‑paced Facilities Department.
