The Global Director, Systems Project Management & Commissioning is responsible for the safe, predictable, and profitable execution of all Food & Beverage systems projects globally.

This position reports to the VP/GM of Food & Beverage and is part of the Global Systems team.

It is located in Bad Kreuznach, Germany and is an on site role.

This leader will oversee the complete project lifecycle from order handoff through commissioning and customer acceptance, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with contractual, quality, and customer requirements.

Leveraging the Danaher Business System (DBS), this leader will drive global standardization, project governance, risk management, change control, operational excellence, and continuous improvement while developing a high-performing global team.

In this role you will have the opportunity to

  • Lead the global project management organization and execution of all systems projects and establish standard project management processes, governance, stage gates, and performance metrics in line with our Danaher Business Systems (DBS) principles.
  • Ensure effective project planning, resource allocation, schedule management, cost control, and customer communication while driving project predictability, profitability, and customer satisfaction across all regions.
  • Lead the global commissioning organization responsible for startup, commissioning, testing, and customer acceptance, implementing standard work and commissioning readiness reviews.
  • Drive first-time-right execution, reduced cycle times, and improved field productivity while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, regulatory, and customer requirements.
  • Own the global risk management process, including project risk identification, mitigation, escalation, and governance, and establish and maintain project risk registers, contingency plans, and executive review processes.
  • Partner closely with Sales, Application Engineering, SLS, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, Finance, and Service teams and ensure robust bid-to-execution handoffs and alignment on customer commitments, schedules, risks, and resources.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a global team of Project Managers and Commissioning Engineers, building organizational capability through talent development, succession planning, coaching, and DBS training and fostering a culture of accountability, transparency, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.

  • Demonstrable successful leadership experience in project management, systems engineering, capital projects, or industrial process systems.
  • Proven experience leading global, cross-functional diverse teams.
  • Strong project financial management, risk management, contract management, and change control experience.
  • Demonstrated success driving operational excellence and process improvement, ideally using Lean, Six Sigma, DBS or similar.
  • Fluency in English and willingness to travel internationally.

It would be a plus if you also possess

  • Master's degree or MBA (Engineering or related technical discipline).
  • PMP certification.
  • Experience in Food & Beverage, Life Sciences, Process Industries, or engineered systems environments.
