Forming an integral part of the Manufacturing Engineering Team, the Senior Manufacturing Engineer will support a team of skilled Manufacturing Engineers and Technicians in a high-volume, highly invested medical device manufacturing facility operating in a cleanroom environment.
What you'll do:
- Support, coach and develop a team of talented & driven Manufacturing Engineers and Technicians within your remit to foster a culture of daily accountability, continuous improvement, and technical excellence using Daily Management, Problem Solving, Standard Work, 5S, Variation Reduction, Value Stream Mapping and other tools within the Danaher Business System (DBS).
- Drive process optimisation through Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) to world‐class standards, ensuring high line availability, minimisation of product scrap, and maximisation of yield through the utilisation of data collection and analysis to drive decisions and prioritised improvement opportunities.
- Deliver cost savings within your remit by improving process capability, increasing productivity, reducing waste, and integrating new technologies and best practices to maintain world-class manufacturing standards.
- Identifying business continuity risks related to manufacturing processes within your remit and lead equipment upgrades to safeguard against obsolescence and regulatory changes that may impact continuity of supply.
Who you are:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent relevant industry experience.
- Proven technical experience, ideally in regulated industry (medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or food and beverage industries).
- Strong background in High‐speed automated assembly, ideally with a demonstrable track record of successfully increasing manufacturing capacity and leading major process optimization initiatives to enhance yield, and productivity.
- Can demonstrate knowledge and ability to lead change-control and product & process validation activities, ideally within a regulated industry.
- Proficiency in structured problem‐solving methodologies applied to assembly opportunities in Manufacturing (5Whys, A3, Ishikawa, DMAIC, 8D).
- Data‐driven, fact‐based decision maker utilising sources such as SPC and OEE to drive improved quality and productivity.
- It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in: Exposure to bespoke assembly lines, robotic systems, control & vision systems, advanced plastic assembly & welding technologies (Ultrasonic, RF and IR plastic welding).
