Overview
In this role you will provide guidance on employee relations and case management across the Life Sciences Platform in the UK. You will partner with HR and leaders to ensure policy consistency and legal compliance, handling complex ER cases including workforce reductions and changes requiring council consultation. You will liaise with the LER COE, Compliance, and Legal teams to mitigate risk and improve organizational effectiveness. You will develop and maintain ER policies, tools, and reporting, and analyze trends to identify improvement opportunities. This role offers the chance to drive compliant people programs within a global science-led business.
Responsibilities
- Provide guidance on employee relations matters and ensure consistent application of policies and employment laws
- Manage employee relations cases including workforce reductions and organizational changes with appropriate consultations
- Own and support performance improvement processes, disciplinary actions, and grievance handling
- Support the development and maintenance of ER policies, procedures, toolkits, and standard work
- Coordinate with the LER COE and applicable legal teams on ER matters for assigned operating companies
- Maintain ER case data and reporting, analyze trends, and identify risk mitigation opportunities
Key requirements
- Bachelor's degree, JD or equivalent combination of education and experience (minimum 10+ years in Labor and Employee Relations or related HR fields)
- Experience managing ER cases including investigations, performance management, disciplinary matters, grievances and reductions
- Experience in a unionized environment and with works councils or employee representative bodies
- Working knowledge of applicable employment laws in relevant jurisdictions
- Ability to travel up to 25%
