The Labour and Employee Relations Advisor is responsible for delivering a high quality and solutions focused employee relations service across the UK and Ireland. This position reports to the Labour and Employee Relations Specialist and is part of the HR team located in Amersham, Buckinghamshire; Portsmouth, Hampshire; Stevenage, Hertfordshire; Cardiff; Newquay, Cornwall; Ilfracombe, North Devon; and will be an on-site role.
What you will do:
- Manage high volume employee relations casework including disciplinary, grievance, performance management, absence management and capability issues.
- Support and conduct investigations, including reviewing statements, interview notes, evidence packs, and outcome letters.
- Provide support to People Leaders at disciplinary and grievance hearings.
- Provide coaching and advice to managers to ensure fair, consistent, and legally compliant decision-making.
- Maintain accurate, timely case records within the HR system and ensure compliance with internal service level agreements and the ACAS Code of Practice.
Qualifications:
- CIPD Level 5 qualified, or educated to degree level in Business, Law, or a related discipline, or able to demonstrate equivalent experience.
- Extensive experience operating in an HR advisory capacity.
- Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and the ACAS Code of Practice.
- Demonstrable experience of managing complex employee relations cases through to resolution with the ability to influence, challenge, and coach managers at all levels.
Travel, motor vehicle record and physical/environment requirements:
- Ability to travel approximately 10β15% across UK sites as needed to support complex casework and to assist with the delivery of training.
- Experience in an HR advisory or centralised Employee Relations service environment would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Experience working within a complex, multi-matrix organisation would be advantageous but is not essential.
