Are you organised, detail-oriented, and enjoy streamlining processes? As an Assistant Buyer, you'll play a key role in ensuring efficient order management across our sites and ERP systems. This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable, family-owned business that’s growing at pace. You’ll manage day-to-day material and plant orders in a fast-paced, reactive environment, build supplier relationships, drive cost-reducing activities, and support continuous improvement across the business.

Danaher & Walsh is a reputable Civil Engineering business specialising in infrastructure, public projects and utilities, operating primarily across the central parts of England. This role comes with genuine self-sufficiency and real scope to grow and develop as the company expands.

Please note the company does not offer sponsorship and therefore candidates must have the legal right to live and work in the UK to be considered.

Key responsibilities:

  • Raise and issue material and plant orders based on specifications
  • Assist with the Lean procurement process
  • Work within a team and support other departments
  • Maintain and build new supplier relationships
  • Identify and deliver cost-saving opportunities

Candidate Requirements:

  • Previous buying/procurement experience
  • Background in Engineering, Construction, Utilities, Civils or Infrastructure
  • Proficient in Microsoft packages
  • Strong phone manner
  • Ability to prioritise effectively
