Project Engineer (Mechanical Pipework) Ipswich outskirts Monday – Friday 08:30 – 17:00 (Permanent) Salary £45,000-£50,000 NEG/DOE + Fully expensed company car + company bonus and life insurance. Are you an experienced Project Engineer with a Mechanical Pipework background experienced in managing customer projects from start to finish? Do you have sound technical knowledge of fluid mechanics in equipment such as Heat Exchangers, Hot Water Boilers, Chillers or Pumpset installations? If yes, please read on… We are pleased to be looking after this exciting opportunity for our long standing and highly regarded client who are seeking a Project Engineer to spearhead customer and project support as part of the company's Fluid Mechanics division. This busy department specialises in the delivery and management of customer projects relating to the supply, repair and installation of a variety of fluid equipment and pipework across the commercial, MOD and public sectors across the East of England. This exciting new role will give the postholder the opportunity to make the role their own and take the lead in developing existing customer accounts in addition to securing new business for this highly skilled and dynamic team. The role will be based at Head Office (Ipswich IP6) with travel to customer premises within the East of England region, therefore, a full UK driving licence will be essential. Outline of Role * Attend customer site meetings, understand and discuss project requirements, timescales and budget in order to provide accurate quotations and information. * Develop, nurture and maintain existing customer relationships within the fluid division. * Endeavour to establish new contacts and business prospects representing the company’s experience, longevity and achievements within the industry. * Provide quotations and associated supporting documentation for current and new project requirements. * Assist with tender preparation for larger projects. * Provide support and guidance to customers enabling required project outcome to be achieved in line with requirements. Qualifications/Experience/Skills Required * Project Management/Business Development experience within Industrial Engineering setting. * Level 3 in Mechanical/Fluid Engineering or relevant experience – essential. * Confident negotiator able to effectively develop customer accounts and build relationships. * Sound knowledge and understanding of Industrial focused Mechanical Engineering – pipework installations and repairs. * Strong technical knowledge of associated mechanical/pipework equipment such as hot water boilers, heat exchangers, fuel/water storage tanks and generators. * Ability to prepare for and undertake customer site meetings to establish requirements, provide quotations, follow up and management of account ensuring communication throughout. * CAD knowledge and/or ability to read technical drawings would be highly beneficial. * Due to the nature of this role a current driving licence is essential.
