Mechanical Fitter, Ipswich (Automatic and Diesel Transmissions) Competitive salary + overtime + company van. Monday – Friday. We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our client, a leading multi-disciplined engineering business on a full time, permanent basis. You will be joining a highly skilled team working within the transmissions division of the company attending customer sites and breakdowns ensuring minimal downtime working on a variety of HGV and PSV as required. You will be working with the best, no two days will be the same, you will be supported and become a valued member of this dynamic, hard-working team. Qualifications/Experience/Skills Required * Apprentice trained Mechanical Engineer with automatic transmission and gearbox experience (C&G NVQ Level 3 preferred) * Working knowledge of Allison and/or ZF transmissions * Diagnostic, repair, service and maintenance of automatic transmissions within heavy plant setting. * Welding and/or fabrication experience within automotive sector – preferred. * Great communication and customer service skills are required due to working on customer sites. * Team player capable of working effectively as part of a team and independently * Awareness of Health and Safety standards and regulations. * Full UK driving license.
