A leading provider of training services specialising in the construction sector is seeking a Construction Trainer to join their growing team to deliver training to apprentices, qualified and private individuals looking to upskill or obtain a recognised qualification. The business also offers a number of Health and Safety courses such as Working at Height, Manual Handling and Emergency First Aid at Work with both face-to-face and online options available depending on course requirements.

You will be joining an established and dedicated team who strive to deliver exceptional customer care, training and learner experience. You will need to have experience in the construction sector with sound knowledge and practical skills in building and carpentry to include a roofing discipline such as flat, pitched, slate, tile, BUFR, single ply, liquid, bitumen and lead.

Your first-rate construction experience and excellent people and communication skills are a must. Along with a strong desire to deliver high standards of training, great learner experience across apprenticeships, experienced workers, onsite assessments and upskill courses will also be key to your success.

What you’ll need:

  • A recognised building and/or carpentry qualification to include a roofing discipline such as flat, pitched, slate, tile, BUFR, single ply, liquid, bitumen and lead.
  • 5 years’ minimum experience within a construction-based role, e.g., Carpenter, builder, roofer.
  • Roofing experience is highly desirable.
  • Previous training, mentorship, assessor or teaching experience would be highly beneficial but not essential.
  • Good level of IT proficiency, organisation and ability to work independently and as part of a valued team member.
  • NEBOSH certification is desirable but not essential.
  • Friendly, engaging, reliable and a dedicated team player are also important qualities we are looking for.

Due to the location and some requirements of the role (Ipswich outskirts), you will need your own vehicle and full valid driving licence. Please note that the company is open to supporting you in gaining a teacher training and/or Nebosh qualification as part of your professional development.
