Dams have been providing furniture solutions since the 1960s and is one of the UKs leading manufacturers and suppliers of office furniture, employing over 340 people from our sites in Knowsley.
Working as part of the engineering team, you will complete maintenance activities on shift in line with the planned maintenance schedule. You will play a key role in maximising machine uptime through both reactive and preventative maintenance, ensuring all work is completed efficiently, cost-effectively and to the highest company standards.

Key responsibilities:
- Undertake electrical and mechanical maintenance and repair of machinery, plant, equipment & facilities
- Liaise with Engineering Manager, Shift Managers and other shift staff in providing maintenance support
- Undertake electrical and mechanical fault diagnosis and repair
- Identify and report on materials and parts required to overcome breakdowns and repairs
- The use of multi test equipment to identify and rectify faults within control systems
- Record detailed and accurate repairs information relating to inspections or completed repair jobs
- Ensure work is carried out to the highest standard and compliant with the Companys Health and Safety Policy
- Observe and comply with all good working practices
- Complete an end of shift report detailing work undertaken
- Provide shift handover information
Experience and skills required:
- Completion of a relevant, recognised apprenticeship
- City & Guilds / BTEC or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering discipline
- Experience gained in a manufacturing environment
- Interpretation of complex electrical drawings
- Pneumatics / Hydraulics fault finding experience
- A good understanding of electronics
- Experience in the following control systems is desirable: PLCs fault finding, Drives & Controls, Encoders, sensors & feedback systems, CNC machine controls
- Experience of hands-on modifications to electrical and electronics circuits
- Experience of retrofitting of drives and configuring parameters
- Some experience of installation projects is desirable
- High level of attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrate high standards of personal conduct
