About the area: The Isle of Wight is an island, English county and unitary authority in the English Channel, 2 to 5 miles (3 to 8 kilometres) off the coast of Hampshire, across the Solent. It is the largest and second-most populous island in England, where you can enjoy a variety of attractions and activities for all ages and interests. Whether you want to explore the colourful cliffs of Alum Bay, marvel at the majestic Needles rocks, or visit the ancient St Catherine's Oratory, you will find plenty of history and natural beauty to admire. You can also have some fun on the water, with options to go paragliding, sailing, or dinosaur hunting.
