Site Manager - Gas Mains Renewal
Salary: £50,000-£60,000 per annum
Location: Medway, Kent

The Opportunity
We are currently recruiting experienced Site Managers to join a leading UK construction and infrastructure contractor, working on essential gas and utilities infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will have a strong background in gas mains laying, utilities and civil engineering, alongside proven site management experience and a commitment to health and safety. A valid SCO1 or SCO2 qualification is essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage direct employees and subcontractors on site.
- Ensure CDM requirements and site procedures are followed.
- Conduct site inductions and regular health and safety inspections.
- Review and amend RAMS where required.
- Issue permits, including Permit to Dig.
- Arrange the hire and off-hire of plant and materials.
- Maintain accurate site diaries and project records.
- Conduct daily briefings and toolbox talks.
- Carry out regular site safety inspections.
- Ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with project requirements.
About You
- Previous experience as a Site Manager or Senior Site Supervisor.
- Proven experience in gas mains laying and utilities infrastructure.
- A current SCO1 or SCO2 qualification - essential.
- Experience managing trenching and deep excavation works.
- Experience with RC works, duct installation, cable pulling or similar civil engineering activities.
- A current SMSTS qualification.
- A full and valid UK driving licence.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety and site management procedures.
