Our client is a global leader in automated material handling systems and they are looking for a Mechanical Project Engineer to join their UK Engineering Parcels team at London Heathrow. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for structured design, technical delivery, and seeing projects through from conception to completion. The ideal candidate will be methodical, compliance-focused, and enjoy working within a defined framework on high-profile parcel and logistics projects.

About the Role:

You will play a critical role in delivering mechanical design solutions for leading parcel automation projects across the UK. • Ensure all designs comply with relevant safety standards and CDM regulations, including risk assessments.
  • Confident use of 2D and 3D AutoCAD; experience with Navisworks (clash detection), Revit, and BIM is a plus.

  • Produce accurate site installation documentation and layout drawings.
  • Develop equipment specifications based on sound technical knowledge.
  • Assess risks and identify opportunities to reduce project uncertainty.
  • Apply knowledge of Machinery Safety Standards to ensure safe operation and maintenance.
  • Work independently or within teams to take full ownership of your designs.
  • Coordinate closely with customers and other internal engineering disciplines.
  • Travel to UK and international sites as needed to support project delivery.
  • Present design solutions clearly and confidently to clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure systems are designed for manufacture within budget constraints.
  • Support mechanical activity planning and subcontractor coordination.

  • Flexible with working hours and travel requirements.

What We Offer:

  • 28 days annual leave (excluding public holidays)
  • Bupa medical cover
  • YuLife membership: includes access to GP appointments, wellbeing support, and shopping voucher rewards
