A well-established and growing fit-out company based in Northampton, delivering high-quality commercial interior and fit-out projects for a range of clients across the UK. Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Estimator to join our team and play a key role in securing and delivering new projects. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Estimator who is looking to join a successful business where they can make a real impact.
As Estimator, you will be responsible for producing accurate and competitive estimates and tenders across a range of commercial fit-out projects. Working closely with the commercial and pre-construction teams, you will analyse tender information, obtain subcontractor and supplier quotations, and ensure projects are priced accurately and competitively.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Preparing detailed estimates and tenders for commercial fit-out projects
- Reviewing drawings, specifications, scopes of work and tender documentation
- Carrying out accurate quantity take-offs and pricing
- Obtaining and assessing quotations from subcontractors and suppliers
- Identifying project risks, exclusions and opportunities
- Producing competitive and commercially sound tender submissions
- Liaising with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams
- Attending tender meetings and site visits where required
- Supporting the commercial team through the pre-construction and handover process
- Maintaining accurate estimating records and cost databases
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of estimating processes
About You
We are looking for an experienced Estimator with a strong background in commercial fit out, interiors, refurbishment or construction. You will ideally have:
- Proven experience as an Estimator within the fit-out/interiors or construction sector
- Strong understanding of commercial fit-out projects and construction methods
- Excellent attention to detail and a commercially minded approach
- The ability to interpret drawings, specifications and tender documentation
- Experience obtaining and negotiating subcontractor/supplier quotations
- Strong IT and estimating skills
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- The ability to work independently while also being a strong team player
- A proactive approach with the confidence to challenge, question and identify opportunities
