12 months+ - Β£500-595pd Inside IR35 DOE - Full time on site in Bridgend or Reading

Essential Skills / Competencies

  • Thorough experience as an Oracle PL/SQL Developer, Support Analyst or DBA.
  • Good knowledge of PL/SQL is a must; exposure to Oracle partitioning, RAC, Dataguard and RMAN would be advantageous.
  • The database is Oracle 11g running on Unix.
  • Suitable training can be provided and Oracle Certification would be encouraged.
  • This position would suit either an experienced PL/SQL Developer/Support Analyst who would like exposure to Oracle Database Administration; or as an all-round Oracle database specialist who does not mind a challenge and would like to work on something big!
  • Experience of development and/or support of Oracle PL/SQL modules in a large system.
  • Basic knowledge of Oracle Database Administration in a Development or Production role.
  • Good interpersonal skills and willingness to deal directly with customers.
  • MS-Office tools including Word, Excel, Visio.

Underlying technology skill requirements

  • Must have development/support skills in all of the following:
  • Exposure to Oracle 10g or later (the target version is Oracle 11gR1, soon to be upgraded to Oracle 12c).
  • In depth knowledge and experience in writing Oracle SQL statements and PL/SQL packages.
