**HR Advisor – Part-time (1-2 days per week) – London (hybrid)**

Please note: For this role we will consider a day rate contractor, or a permanent employee on a part-time basis.

We are seeking a proactive and people-focused Part-Time HR Advisor to support a growing organisation across key areas of the employee lifecycle, with a particular focus on employee onboarding, employee relations and day-to-day HR support.

The role will act as a trusted point of contact for employees and managers, ensuring that new starters have a positive and well-organised introduction to the business while providing practical HR guidance on employee-related matters.

This is an ideal opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys working across a broad range of HR activities and is comfortable operating in a hands-on environment.

Key Responsibilities

Employee Onboarding

  • Coordinate and manage the end-to-end onboarding process for new employees.
  • Ensure all pre-employment checks, documentation and HR records are completed accurately and on time.
  • Prepare contracts, new starter documentation and onboarding information.
  • Liaise with relevant internal teams to ensure new starters have the equipment, systems, access and information required.
  • Coordinate induction activities and support managers with onboarding plans.
  • Act as a key point of contact for new employees during their initial period with the organisation.
  • Gather feedback from new starters and identify opportunities to improve the onboarding experience.

Employee Relations

  • Provide day-to-day HR advice and support to employees and managers.
  • Support managers with employee relations matters, including performance, attendance, conduct, capability and absence.
  • Assist with disciplinary, grievance and performance management processes in line with company policies and employment legislation.
  • Support managers in preparing for and conducting employee meetings where appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records relating to employee relations cases.
  • Escalate complex or high-risk employee relations matters where appropriate.
  • Promote a fair, consistent and professional approach to people management.

General HR Support

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR systems.
  • Support the development, implementation and review of HR policies and procedures.
  • Assist with employee lifecycle activities including probation reviews, changes to employment, promotions and exits.
  • Support HR reporting and provide relevant employee data and information to management.
  • Ensure HR processes are carried out consistently and in accordance with company policies and relevant employment legislation.
  • Provide general HR guidance to employees and managers.
  • Contribute to wider HR projects and initiatives as required.

Key skills and experience:

  • Previous experience working in an HR generalist, HR Advisor, HR Officer or similar role.
  • Practical experience of employee onboarding and the wider employee lifecycle.
  • Experience supporting employee relations matters.
  • Good understanding of UK employment legislation and HR best practice.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information professionally.
  • Excellent organisation and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
  • A pragmatic, approachable and solutions-focused approach.

Desirable skills and experience:

  • CIPD qualification or working towards a CIPD qualification.
  • Experience supporting managers with performance management, absence, disciplinary and grievance processes.
  • Experience using HRIS / HR systems.
  • Experience developing or improving HR processes and policies.
