We are seeking an experienced Unified Communications Consultant with a strong focus on Microsoft technologies to join our team on a large-scale, existing, and in-flight Teams Phone migration project. The successful candidate will act as the technical lead for the migration of sites from legacy PBX infrastructure to a Teams Phone solution. They will follow already defined process and migration activities as part of a transition run-book, and be the accountable technical stakeholder from site discovery through to go-live & early life support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Submission and management of number porting activities.
- Site discovery and data collation.
- Data analysis and migration strategy.
- Provide technical leadership during project delivery, including design, migration planning, and implementation.
- Conduct client workshops, assessments, and training sessions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex UC issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to align solutions with business objectives.
- Maintain documentation and provide knowledge transfer to client teams.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in Microsoft Unified Communications (Teams / Skype) and the wider ecosystem.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft 365, Azure, and related services.
- Expertise in voice integration, SBCs, and telephony migration.
- Familiarity with PowerShell scripting for automation and configuration.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently and travel regularly to client sites.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with Direct Routing, Contact Centre integrations, and third-party UC solutions.
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals (QoS, SIP, DNS).
- Microsoft certifications (e.g., MS-700, MS-720, or equivalent).
This role may require travel (3–5 days per week) to client sites across the UK. Note that the role will include work within prisons. This role requires the successful candidate to undergo and be eligible for UK Security Vetting at SC level. Clearance sponsorship will be provided where required. Due to the nature of the work, candidates should meet the relevant residency requirements. If applicable, reserved post nationality restrictions will be confirmed by the client.
