Senior Technical Lead - Remote - 5 months initally - Circa £600 per day OUTSIDE IR35 Please note: Due to the nature of the project, successful applicants will be required to be SC cleared prior to appointment. My client is a global leading IT consultancy. They are on the hunt for a Senior Technical Architect to join a central government client of theirs. This is a senior leadership role requiring strong hands-on technical credibility alongside the ability to maintain a wider view of service health, technical risk, technical debt, dependencies and future roadmaps. Key Responsibilities Provide technical leadership, direction and assurance across multiple engineering teams. Establish consistent engineering standards and ways of working. Review complex technical approaches and support resolution of major technical issues. Drive improvements in security, resilience, CI/CD, automation, testing, observability and reuse. Maintain oversight of technical risk, debt, legacy technology and application lifecycle. Develop technical improvement and modernisation roadmaps. Improve collaboration between Build and Run teams. Coach and mentor engineers, creating stronger technical ownership within teams. Provide clear technical insight and recommendations to senior stakeholders.Experience Required Senior Technical Lead, Engineering Lead, Principal Engineer or similar experience. Strong hands-on engineering background and technical credibility. Experience leading across multiple applications or engineering teams. Strong understanding of CI/CD, automation, secure development, testing and production services. Experience with legacy systems, technical debt and modernisation. Experience across both development and live-service/operational environments. Strong technical risk management and problem-solving skills. Excellent stakeholder management, coaching and influencing skills. This temporary contract is outside IR35 and will be delivered on a statement-of-work basis. The supplier will determine the method, resources, and approach to deliver the agreed outcomes This temporary contract requires the successful candidate to undergo and be eligible for UK Security Vetting at SC/DV level. Clearance sponsorship will be provided where required. Due to the nature of the work, candidates should meet the relevant residency requirements.
