We are looking for a HR Operating Model Specialist to join a growing HR Transformation Consultancy on a permanent basis. This will be working across both Public and Private sector clients, and will involve travel to client sites across the UK (up to 50%). In this role, you will support complex, large scale HR transformation programmes, translating operating model design ambition into actionable, enterprise-wide change.
As a HR Operating Model Specialist, you will shape how our People function delivers high‑quality, efficient and future‑ready services. Working within Employee Experience & HR team, you will contribute to the design and optimisation of operating models, enabling seamless, insight‑driven and scalable HR ecosystems that supports our clients' organisational strategy and enhances the employee experience.
In this role you will play a key role in:
- Support the delivery of HR transformation projects, contributing to operating model design, process improvement, workforce analysis and change management.
- Reviewing and optimising end‑to‑end HR processes, identifying opportunities to improve service quality, clarity, governance and cross‑functional alignment.
- Undertaking research, analytics, and benchmarking activities to identify issues and generate data‑driven insights that help to shape client strategies.
- Supporting the adoption of new ways of working, embedding continuous improvement, capability uplift and a culture of operational excellence across our clients' organisations.
- Contribute to business development through proposal writing, client presentations, and thought leadership.
Key skills and experience:
- Proven experience in HR transformation and supporting HR operating model changes, within complex organisations.
- A deep understanding of HR, HR shared services, and HR Operational Delivery, including high-level knowledge of HR systems, Payroll, Time Management and Benefits.
- Skilled in data‑led analysis and problem solving, able to simplify complexity and translate insights into clear recommendations.
- Highly collaborative, confident engaging a diverse range of stakeholders, facilitating workshops, and being able to reach alignment across diverse teams.
- A proactive, delivery‑focused mindset, demonstrating sound judgement, adaptability, and a passion for improving employee and service‑experience outcomes.
- Currently working in a Consulting firm, and/or in industry but having a Consulting aspect.
- HR and/or Project Management qualifications (e.g. CIPD, Prince2).
- Proven ability to be successful in a matrixed organisation, and to enlist support and commitment from peers in selling and delivering consulting solutions.
- Experience of proposition building and delivery.
