My client is a global leading IT consultancy. They are on the hunt for a number of Android Developers who are passionate about building high quality mobile applications with customer needs at the centre of every decision.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing and maintaining features across our Android applications
- Collaborating closely with cross functional teams to deliver high quality digital products
- Building intuitive, visually engaging, and user friendly mobile experiences
- Writing clean, scalable, maintainable, and testable Kotlin code
- Supporting development activities across the ScottishPower family of Digital platforms
- Driving continuous improvement across development processes, tooling, and customer experiences
- Identifying opportunities to enhance app performance, usability, and engineering practices
- Working collaboratively with Analysts, Designers, and Testers to deliver solutions aligned to stakeholder and customer needs
- Contributing to technical discussions, architecture decisions, and code reviews
- Supporting the delivery of Digital objectives through innovation and engineering best practices
Skills:
- Strong commercial experience with Kotlin and/or Java
- Experience using Android Studio
- Experience building Android applications using MVVM architecture
- Strong understanding of Jetpack Compose
- Familiarity with Android Jetpack libraries such as LiveData, Navigation Component/NavGraph, and local persistence solutions such as ObjectBox
- Experience working with Coroutines for asynchronous programming
- Comfortable integrating with RESTful APIs using tools such as Retrofit
- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git
- Experience with Gradle
- Understanding of the Google Play release process
- Experience working within Agile/Scrum delivery teams
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
This temporary contract is inside IR35 and will require working under the direction of the client delivery manager as part of a multi-disciplinary team. The successful candidate will follow established delivery processes and working practices.
