The Ocean 4PL Customer experience consultant serves as the central coordinator for inbound ocean freight operations, managing the end-to-end movement of cargo from suppliers to final delivery locations. Acting as a control tower and single point of contact, this role oversees logistics providers, ensures shipment visibility, drives operational excellence, supports compliance requirements, and delivers cost-efficient transportation solutions while maintaining high service levels.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage inbound ocean freight operations from purchase order planning through final delivery.
- Coordinate shipment planning, booking activities, and container utilization optimization.
- Oversee relationships with carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and logistics partners.
- Monitor shipment milestones and proactively manage delays and exceptions.
- Ensure documentation accuracy, trade compliance, and customs readiness.
- Coordinate destination handling, inland transportation, and delivery scheduling.
- Track freight costs, validate invoices, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Prepare KPI reports and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Who we are looking for:
- Someone with experience in ocean freight, logistics, supply chain, or freight forwarding operations.
- Knowledge of ocean transportation, customs procedures, Incoterms, and shipping documentation.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Analytical mindset with experience monitoring KPIs and logistics performance.
- Ability to resolve operational issues and manage exceptions in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with TMS, ERP systems, and visibility platforms.
- Continuous improvement and customer-focused approach.
- Data driven & cost-efficient mindset, being able to understand complex scenarios and drive desired outcomes.
- Business oriented approach, understanding the impact of your decisions on our customers.
- Fluency in English, both written & spoken.
