Role OverviewThe Lighting Artist is responsible for creating beautiful, atmospheric lighting throughout our game world and in cinematics.

- The creation of atmospheric lighting throughout all stages of world development, in close collaboration with the Environment Art and Level Design teams.
- Working with the Cinematics group to validate shot choices and give qualitative guidance on lighting considerations.
- Final delivery of lighting in cinematics.
- Collaborating closely with the Art Director and Technical Art Director to understand and uphold the visual style and direction for lighting, within technical constraints.
- Working with the Tech Art and Core Tech teams to solve challenging technical lighting problems.
- Understanding game design and artistic requirements and being able to propose and execute solutions that elevate both.
- Shot composition, lighting and rendering of key art and marketing shots when required.
- A strong eye for visual quality, composition, and colour theory.
- An understanding of how lighting can elevate the game by providing a strong atmosphere and emotional impact.
- Good knowledge of technical limitations and how to work within them.
- At least 2 years’ experience in the PC and/or console games industry.
- Experience with Unreal Engine or similar.
- Good knowledge and understanding of 3D art tools.
- Ability to create skies that adhere to technical requirements and artistic aspiration.
