We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual with strong purchase ledger experience to join our finance team at the Chorley site. You will be responsible for accurately processing supplier invoices, maintaining up-to-date ledger records, and supporting the smooth running of our accounts payable function.
Location: Chorley North Business Park, Drumhead Road, Chorley, PR6 7DE
Hours: Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week
Salary: £27,000.00
Main Responsibilities:
- Accurately receive, verify, and process incoming invoices from suppliers of two main ledgers.
- Account reconciliation.
- Ensure supplier statements reconcile against supplier ledger and resolve queries swiftly.
- Handle purchase inquiries and disputes with suppliers.
- Liaising with head office regarding payments of accounts.
- Responsible for petty cash and monthly reconciliation/replenishment.
- General administrative support as required.
- Provide cover for managing overheads within the purchase ledger.
- Assist with credit control duties when needed.
- Provide cover for cash and cheque banking, as well as BACS payment allocation.
Skills and Experience:
- High attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Previous experience within purchase ledger.
- Methodical and organised, with the ability to work to deadlines.
- Self-motivated and able to use initiative.
- Flexible attitude and the ability to work successfully in a close team environment.
- Good IT and Excel skills.
