Dalton Recruitment has a fantastic opportunity available for an HR Advisor to join a small HR team for this national business and support the HR Manager in delivering a comprehensive, efficient, and commercially focused HR service across a multi-site, blue-collar SME organisation. Reporting to the HR Manager, this role ensures that HR operations, systems, people processes and compliance frameworks support business performance, workforce engagement, and organisational growth. Working very closely with wider management across the business, this is a very hands-on operationally focused role and needs someone who can roll their sleeves up and deliver a 360 degree HR service. There is a huge amount of development potential given the variety and scope of work to deliver.

The role is offered on a full time permanent basis, offering a flexible hybrid model with 2-3 days in the Winsford office or visiting sites across the UK, and 2-3 days working from home.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Provide guidance & support to managers for all company policies and procedures in line with current Employment Law regulations.
  • Provide commercially focused advice and operational support to managers on all ER issues in line with the company procedures including; disciplinary, grievance, performance management and absence management particularly in a complex and fast paced environment.
  • Responsible for building relationships with all levels of management to provide expert knowledge on complex employee issues for effective management of case workload.
  • Assist with the delivery of Change Management communications and operational support for restructures & redundancy.
  • Raise and improve Managers awareness of current and new Employment Legislation.
  • Effective and timely escalation of high risk cases whilst working closely with the Regional HRBP.
  • Contribute to the delivery of best people management practice, particularly in equal opportunity and cultural diversity.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Minimum 2-3 years' HR experience including confidence in dealing with Employee Relations cases.
  • Demonstrates a track record in successfully advising and guiding management on all aspect of people management practices.
  • Experience delivering an HR service to a dispersed, multi-site blue collar workforce.
  • UK employment legislation knowledge.
  • Problem solving and Conflict resolution.
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent and/or CIPD qualified, or willing to work towards CIPD qualification.
  • Customer service orientation.
  • Build relationships with managers.
  • Ability to mediate between managers and employees.
  • Strong verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to follow clear processes.
  • Coaching skills.
  • Full UK driving licence (sites are not necessarily close to public transport links).
