Dalton Recruitment has a fantastic opportunity with a great client based in Croydon, who are looking for an experienced HR Advisor to join their HR team and play a key role in delivering a full end to end, 360 degree, HR service across the organisation. This is a varied and rewarding HR position where you'll combine HR advisory responsibilities with more typical HR generalist responsibilities, training and development activities which will help create a positive, high-performing workplace culture. Working closely with the People & Organisational Manager, you'll support approximately 300 employees across the organisation, providing expert HR guidance, delivering learning initiatives and contributing to key people projects that support business success. While there can be flexibility to attend important personal commitments as required, the role does require someone to be based in their Croydon offices 5 days/week but it is a very engaging, inclusive and positive culture where there is a shared sense of pride and importance in the services they offer.
What you'll be doing
- HR Advisory & Employee Support
- Providing professional HR advice and guidance to managers and employees across the business
- Advising on employee relations matters including absence management, investigations, disciplinary processes and grievance cases
- Supporting complex case management and Employment Tribunal preparation where required
- Supporting the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, development and offboarding
- Managing and maintaining employment documentation, contracts, job descriptions and development records
- Ensuring compliance with employment legislation, company policies and best practice
- Recruitment & Talent
- Supporting recruitment campaigns and selection processes to attract high-quality talent
- Working closely with recruitment teams to coordinate hiring activity and candidate onboarding
- Managing pre-employment screening processes, including references, medical assessments and DBS checks
- Supporting talent development and succession planning initiatives
- Training & Development
- Identifying learning and development needs across the business
- Designing, coordinating and delivering engaging training programmes
- Supporting managers and employees in achieving development objectives
- Monitoring mandatory training compliance and ensuring completion targets are achieved
- Promoting a culture of continuous learning and professional development
- Projects & Continuous Improvement
- Supporting employee engagement initiatives, including surveys and action planning
- Contributing to HR system implementation and improvement projects, including HRIS developments
- Reviewing and updating HR policies, procedures and guidance materials
- Producing HR reports and management information to support business decision-making
- Ensuring HR data is accurate, up to date and compliant with company requirements
What we're looking for
- Previous experience in an HR Advisor or HR & Training Advisor role
- CIPD qualified or currently working towards qualification
- Strong understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice
- Experience supporting employee relations cases from start to finish
- Learning & Development experience, including training delivery and facilitation
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Experience using HR systems and Microsoft Office applications
- A proactive, positive and solutions-focused approach
- High levels of professionalism, integrity and attention to detail
