Dalston Superstore is an iconic Queer space which has been at the heart of East London's LGBTQI+ scene since 2009. We're looking for an experienced and dynamic General Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of Dalston Superstore. The GM is responsible for service standards, team culture, operational delivery and venue-wide coordination. The role includes managing the Assistant General Manager (AGM) and Duty Managers, supporting team wellbeing, and working closely with the venue owners and the HR Manager on rota, compliance and business planning.

Contracted hours: 35hrs - 40 hrs + overtime as required. Shifts will include both daytime admin shifts as well as weekend, evening and late-night service shifts as required.

What We’re Looking For:

  • At least 1 year of experience in a senior management role in a bar, club or similar venue
  • Experience using digital tools for communication and scheduling
  • Personal Alcohol Licence

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and strategies to optimise organisational performance.
  • Lead, motivate, and supervise departmental managers and staff to achieve company objectives.
  • Oversee daily operations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and organisational policies.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate operational effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
  • Manage budgets, resources, and logistics efficiently to meet organisational goals.
  • Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, professional development, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations across all operational activities.

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience in supervising and leading teams within Hospitality management.
  • Strong management skills with the ability to plan, organise, and coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent leadership qualities with the ability to inspire and motivate staff at all levels.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build strong relationships internally and externally.
