Norwegian Freelance Remote Translator

We help non-English speakers access essential services, such as medical care, by providing interpreters of over 512 languages and dialects. Dals is seeking Norwegian speakers to join our team of freelance translators working remotely. If you\’re proficient in both English and Norwegian and possess experience in translation, either professionally or as a volunteer, we\’re eager to connect with you!

Join our expanding network of freelance translators at Dals, where we offer written translation services to our clients across the UK. This position plays a vital role in helping our clients deliver their services efficiently by translating documents into the languages required by their service users. This role offers an excellent chance to develop your translation career within a dynamic industry.

Your Role and Responsibilities

In your capacity as a translator with Dals, you will be tasked with translating digital documents for our clients, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines, and performing necessary proofreading. You will also communicate with our booking team for any needed support or to report issues, guaranteeing the readiness of documents for client submission.

  • Applicants must meet the following criteria:
  • Possess the Right to Work in the country of residence
  • Be fluent in English and a second language at a C1 level or higher
  • Be prepared to undergo a trial assessment
  • Have a Basic DBS check or equivalent security clearance for EU residents
  • Have at least 1 year of translation experience, translating a minimum of 100,000 words or completing 100 assignments
  • Hold relevant qualifications in Translation, Languages, Linguistics, or a related field, such as: BA or MA in Translation, CIOL Level 7 Diploma in Translation, DPI Level 4 & 5 in Translation, BA or MA in Languages, Linguistics or any related discipline

This role is completely flexible – you can choose when you work and how long you work for. You simply log into our telephone interpreting app whenever you are ready to work, and we will pay you for each minute you work for.

As this is a freelance position, you will be responsible for your own tax payments.

  • Right to work in your country of residence
  • Approximately 100 hours interpreting experience – as a professional or through voluntary work
  • A valid security clearance/criminal background check
  • Fluency in English and Norwegian
  • EU residency
