We are a Worcester based recruitment business and my client are local people looking to expand their business portfolio to include a Worcester based pub/restaurant combined with holiday lets. They are opening the doors to a brand new, community-focused pub and are looking for an exceptional General Manager to lead it from day one. This is a rare opportunity for someone to put their stamp on a new venue, build a loyal local following, and create a welcoming hub at the heart of the community.
The Role
As General Manager, you will have full responsibility for the day-to-day operation and long-term success of the pub. You will lead by example, create a positive team culture, and deliver outstanding customer experiences while driving strong commercial performance.
Responsibilities
- Launch and manage all aspects of the pub's operations
- Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team
- Create a warm, inclusive atmosphere that reflects the local community
- Deliver excellent standards of food, drink, service, and cleanliness
- Manage budgets, stock control, and GP to maximise profitability
- Ensure compliance with licensing, health & safety, and company policies
- Plan and deliver events, promotions, and community initiatives
- Build strong relationships with local suppliers, groups, and customers
About You
- Proven experience as a General Manager, Pub Manager, or similar senior hospitality role
- Passionate about community pubs and great hospitality
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
- Commercially aware with solid financial and operational knowledge
- Hands-on, organised, and confident making decisions
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and key events
