Job Summary: The Mechanic supports the preparation, maintenance, and assembly of vehicles and related systems within Dallara’s engineering and simulation programs. This role assists with DIL (Driver-in-the-Loop) simulator cockpit setup, contributes to the assembly of customer and internal vehicle parts and equipment. The position also provides hands-on support for the maintenance and upkeep of the Dallara EXP track car program. The position requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, customer service, and the ability to work in a fast-paced motorsports environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the setup, teardown, and configuration of the DIL simulator, including mechanical adjustments, component installation, system checks, and driver fitment.
- Assist with the assembly, maintenance, and repair of parts, including suspension, drivetrain, braking systems, and bodywork.
- Help with the assembly and ongoing development of the EXP car, working closely with the program team.
- Assist with mechanical inspections and ensure all components meet quality and safety standards.
- Follow build sheets, engineering drawings, and assembly procedures accurately.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Document work performed and communicate issues or required adjustments to supervisors and engineers.
- Assist with parts preparation, inventory organization, and basic fabrication tasks as needed.
- Support trackside or testing activities when required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with tools and vehicle systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, assembly instructions, and mechanical schematics.
- Understanding of motorsport or high-performance vehicle components preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Positive customer service attitude when working with drivers and teams.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, kneel, or work in constrained positions for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable working around machinery, tools, and vehicle components.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior experience as a mechanic, technician, or motorsports mechanic preferred.
- Experience with simulator systems or vehicle assembly is a plus.
- Fabrication or electrical experience is beneficial but not required.
Travel: Limited travel may be required for this position.
