Location: Mobile role covering sites across the Liverpool area.

Hours: Eight hours per day, with start and finish times agreed locally between 7am and 7pm. Participation in an out-of-hours call-out rota is required, with authorised overtime paid at time and a half or double time, depending on when it is worked.

About the Role

We're looking for a skilled Mobile Fabric Technician to join our Mobile Support Team, delivering planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive repairs and additional works across our Facilities Management contracts. Reporting to the Engineering Supervisor, you'll help keep buildings safe, functional and well-maintained, completing work to the required standards and within agreed service levels.

You'll undertake a variety of building fabric repairs, including carpentry, joinery, fire door repairs, painting and decorating, minor plumbing, tiling, brickwork and glazing. Working closely with clients, colleagues and specialist subcontractors, you'll provide practical support, manage your workload and maintain accurate electronic records of completed work.

You'll be supporting education sites through the delivery of safe, compliant and well-maintained learning environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete scheduled building fabric PPM, maintaining standards to protect the condition, reliability and operational effectiveness of buildings.
  • Undertake general property repairs, including carpentry, joinery, fire doors, painting and decorating, minor plumbing, tiling, minor brickwork and glazing.
  • Respond promptly to reactive maintenance and helpdesk requests, participating in the out-of-hours call-out rota and attending emergencies as required.
  • Deliver additional works and minor building fabric projects, organising your workload to meet contractual deadlines and agreed service levels.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and operational teams, assist with coordinating specialist subcontractors and support other trades when required.
  • Follow health and safety and site quality assurance procedures, maintaining accurate electronic records and attending relevant meetings and training.

What We're Looking For

  • An NVQ Level 3 in Carpentry and Joinery or recognised equivalent, together with City & Guilds 6706 or equivalent and a completed apprenticeship or equivalent.
  • Previous experience of maintenance and repairs within a Facilities Management environment.
  • A good understanding of health and safety legislation and safe working practices.
  • Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Office and the ability to record work electronically using Bolster or an equivalent application.
  • A full UK driving licence.

Experience of fire door works to FIRAS accreditation requirements, wider building fabric knowledge covering plumbing, drainage and decoration, an understanding of building standards, additional fabric trade qualifications, health and safety training and familiarity with CAFM systems would further support your application.
