Dalkia UK are looking for an experienced cleaner to work on one of our education sites in Huddersfield area. This role is a part-time role contracted to 25 hours a week.
Working hours: Monday-Friday, 6am-8am AND/OR 3pm-6pm
Job Purpose
You will be responsible for the general cleaning of the premises in accordance specification, under the direction of the Cleaning Supervisor. You will also need to ensure all cleaning materials are handled and used in the correct way in accordance with the COSHH data sheet.
Aims and Objectives
- To maintain high standards.
- To meet client expectation and audit score.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Vacuum carpeted areas of the building.
- Mop and buff vinyl and /or hard floor areas of the building.
- Clean toilet areas of the building.
- Polish glass and brass work in the building.
- Collect and remove rubbish and waste material to authorised disposal points.
- Take responsibility for the safe use of all cleaning materials and equipment used in the course of your duties.
- Work in a safe manner for the benefit of oneself and other occupants of the building.
- Display appropriate signage to ensure that occupants of the building are aware on any circumstances that may affect their health and safety whilst cleaning operations are taking place.
- Report defects, deficiencies or health and safety related issues to the caretaker with minimum delay.
- Remain security conscious and report any suspicious incidents or observations to the caretaker with minimum delay.
- Undertake job related training as and when required.
- Be able to work as part of a cleaning team.
- Ensure equipment is maintained correctly.
- Report any accidents, incidents, and near misses.
- Undertake any other duties that commensurate with the level of the post as may be reasonably be required.

- Previous experience working as a cleaner or similar role
- Experience in the use of cleaning equipment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Understand safe working practices and health and safety legislation

- Well-organised and capable of prioritising own work
- Flexible approach to working as part of a team
- COSHH training
