We’re looking for a motivated and ambitious Trainee Mechanical Engineer to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands‑on experience while working towards a Level 4 Building Services Engineering Senior Technician qualification.
About the Role
As a Trainee Engineer, you’ll work on impactful projects across clean energy, healthcare, life sciences, and infrastructure, learning from experienced professionals and contributing to real-world engineering solutions. You’ll develop technical skills, commercial awareness, and a strong understanding of project delivery in a supportive, collaborative environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll gain practical experience across a variety of areas, including:
- Supporting project planning and coordinating workloads alongside the Project Leadership team
- Assisting in delivering projects efficiently and profitably
- Learning how to develop project programmes and track key milestones
- Helping manage procurement schedules and ensure materials are delivered on time
- Supporting tender processes, including understanding estimates and subcontract packages
- Attending meetings with subcontractors and internal stakeholders
- Reviewing technical designs, drawings, and specifications
- Developing your understanding of health & safety standards and compliance
- Learning to interpret technical specifications, standards, and regulations

Training & Development
Qualification: Level 4 Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Building Services Engineering
Provider: Leeds College of Building
Format: Block release (1 week every 5 weeks)

Entry Requirements
- 5 GCSEs (Grade 4/C or above), including Maths, English, and Science
- BTEC Level 3 in Building Services Engineering
