Your Training Plan
- Building Services Engineering Senior Technician Equal to Level 4 (Higher national certificate) Leeds College of Building
- Block release learning at Leeds College of Building (1-week attendance every 5-weeks)
- Regular progress reviews to discuss expected progress vs actual progress/interventions/additional support
What you’ll be doing
- Learn how to plan and manage the project workload, allocating specific tasks to appointed personnel associated with the project, in line with directions from the Project Leadership team.
- Understand the preparation of operational project programmes in alignment with the main project programme, identifying labour and material procurement deadlines.
- Undertake necessary tasks to ensure identified deadlines are met, monitoring progress daily or weekly as appropriate.
- Learn how to prepare major material and master procurement schedules, verifying that proposed procurement dates align with the programme schedule, and ensure materials and equipment are available on-site at the prescribed times.
- Understand how estimates are created and packaged during the tender stage, enabling you to create subcontract packages and compare responses to the tender position, identifying any changes or gaps in scope.
- Arrange and attend subcontractor reviews, meetings, and appointments, liaising with the project surveyor as necessary.
- Gain knowledge of reviewing and interpreting proposed designs, drawings, and specifications to ensure compliance with contractual obligations, functional requirements, and recognised standards.
- Develop a strong understanding of health and safety practices, ensuring that you and others go home safely every day.
- Learn to interpret technical information within specifications, relevant standards, and regulations.
