Dalkia UK is looking for a skilled and reliable Combustion Gas Engineer to join our team, supporting a multi-site education portfolio. This role focuses on delivering high-quality planned and reactive maintenance across domestic and light commercial gas and heating systems. You’ll play a key role in ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient operation of heating systems while contributing to a strong team culture and excellent client service.
What you will do:
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), servicing, and fault diagnosis on domestic and light commercial gas and heating systems.
- Diagnose and repair faults on boilers and associated systems, including valves, controls, and pipework.
- Complete minor installation and remedial works while identifying and reporting further required repairs.
- Respond promptly to reactive maintenance tasks and helpdesk requests across multiple sites.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation using logbooks and CAFM systems.
- Ensure all works are completed in line with gas safety regulations and Health Safety standards.
- Support compliance across the estate and assist in coordinating subcontractors when required.
- Contribute to general mechanical maintenance tasks and assist other trades to support contract delivery.
- Maintain company equipment and proactively support improvements to service delivery and efficiency.
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- Valid ACS gas qualifications (including CCN1 and CENWAT).
- Experience servicing and maintaining domestic and/or light commercial boilers.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Good understanding of Health Safety practices.
- Strong communication and record-keeping skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable:
- Experience within a facilities management or commercial environment.
- Exposure to commercial gas systems or plantrooms.
- Knowledge of pumps, valves, and heating controls.
- Understanding of sealed and pressurised systems (e.g. expansion vessels).
- Experience using CAFM or PPM systems.
